What Charter does
Three steps. From messy process to visual system.
Describe it plainly
Client onboarding. Product fulfilment. Team SOPs. Describe the steps as you'd explain them to someone. Charter handles the rest.
She structures it
Nodes, decision points, yes/no branches, parallel paths — all mapped from your description. Complex workflows without diagramming skill.
Share anywhere
Interactive HTML flowchart. Opens in any browser, embeds in Notion, shares as a file, or prints to PDF. Zero design tools needed.
Worked examples
Three finished maps ship in the kit. One operator, three moods.
Every kit includes three complete flowcharts Charter built end to end — open them, click around, make the structure your own. The same operator produced all three, and they look nothing alike.
Content studio
Nova — ecosystem map
A full content-studio ecosystem in one view — how everything connects, from capture to publish, across every channel.
Client operations
Crest — client journeys
A client-operations map with three parallel journeys running side by side in true swim lanes — who does what, and where paths hand off.
Offer ecosystem
Velour — offer ladder
An offer ecosystem and upsell ladder in an editorial style — proof the same operator can shift into a completely different brand mood.
How she works
Interview first. Canvas never.
Every other AI flowchart tool “dumps an empty canvas… or generates a generic box-and-arrow diagram that looks machine-made. You do neither. You interview the person.”
— from CHARTER.md, the operator's own instructions
- Ten questions. Charter opens with a 10-question intake — your process, your brand, your audience. You never face a blank page.
- The brief, restated. She plays the whole thing back — structure, palette, node count, anything ambiguous — before a single node exists.
- Your yes. Nothing gets built until you approve the brief. Change anything, and she restates it again.
- The build. One finished, interactive HTML flowchart — checked against a 16-point quality list before it reaches you.
What's inside the Charter kit
Five files. One install. Runs forever.
- README.html — open first. Everything you need to know, no terminal required.
- CHARTER.md — the operator itself, v2.0. Around 880 lines of design system, engineering, and process. Drop it into your AI COO or Claude Code.
- nova-ecosystem.html — worked example: a 32-node content-studio ecosystem map.
- crest-journeys.html — worked example: a 32-node client-operations map with three journeys in swim lanes.
- velour-offers.html — worked example: a 28-node offer ladder in an editorial style.
And inside CHARTER.md
- A brand-matched design system — your actual hex codes, your actual fonts, mood-mapped typography. She contrast-checks your colours and flags problems before building.
- Arrow engineering — smart bezier arrows that route around nodes, solid vs dashed for manual vs automated steps, and charts that redraw on window resize.
- Hover and click-pin tooltips, true swim lanes, and hub / passive / future node states.
- Print CSS baked in — every chart prints to PDF cleanly, no export button needed.
- 5 starter templates — Client Onboarding · Marketing Funnel · SOP with swim lanes · Offer Ecosystem · Team Workflow.
- Surgical update mode — revisions state exactly which nodes and arrows will change, and touch nothing else.
- A 16-point pre-delivery quality checklist — no placeholder text, no “Node 1 / Node 2” ever ships.
I tried every AI flowchart tool. They all left me frustrated — beautiful outputs but hostile to real business processes. So I built Charter for myself. Now every SOP I write starts here.— Elfina · Productive Studio founder · Charter across 8 businesses
Answers
Common questions.
What format does the flowchart come out in?
Clean interactive HTML — opens in any browser, embeds in Notion, shares as a file, or prints to PDF. No design software required.
Can I use Charter with Claude Code or other AI systems?
Yes. Charter runs in your AI COO or Claude Code — either works. Some things may vary (output preview, save location), but the operator itself works anywhere you can drop a markdown file.
Can Charter handle complex multi-branch workflows?
Yes. Decision trees, yes/no branches, multi-step approval flows, parallel paths. The more detail you give it, the more precise the chart.
How long does setup take?
10 minutes. Open README.html first — it walks you through the whole install.
How is this different from Whimsical or Miro?
There's no canvas and no dragging. You describe your process — Charter interviews you, restates the brief, and builds after your yes. The result is a single HTML file you own forever: no login, no subscription, nothing to export.
What happens when my process changes?
Ask for the change. Charter states exactly which nodes and arrows will change and touches nothing else. And because your first session saves your preferences — colours, fonts, naming — every revision after that gets faster.
Ready to stop drawing SOPs in your head?
Charter turns your process into a picture. Everyone on your team sees the same thing.
One-time price. Yours to keep — and when Charter gets sharper, the update's yours too.
Runs in the AI COO you already have. No subscription, no monthly fee.
