Sage — AI Research Operator mascot

✦ Available · No. 06 · Research Operator

Deep research. Overnight.

Sage is your AI research operator. She goes wide, goes deep, and delivers a clean brief you can act on by breakfast — with security protocols built in.

$38 · yours forever

Instant delivery. Runs in your existing AI COO or Claude Code. No monthly fee.

What Sage does

Three moves. From question to decision.

Searches, broad then focused

Give Sage a topic, a competitor, a question. She ranges wide across forums, reviews, and communities — then narrows to what actually matters.

Synthesises the noise

Not a wall of links. Sage reads, summarises, and structures findings into a clean brief — the frustrations, the exact language customers use, the gaps.

Delivers decision-ready

Formatted briefs, competitive analyses, market overviews — filed to your drive. Feeds directly into Quill, Maven, and Stitch when you need it to.

The deliverable

The brief is the product.

Every run ends the same way: one locked-format research brief, eight sections, no wall of links. Here's what lands in your inbox.

Market Pulse

The whole market in one paragraph. Read it in thirty seconds, know exactly where you stand.

Real Words, Quoted

What people are actually saying — direct quotes from real posts and reviews, not summaries of summaries.

Competitor Gaps

A table of where competitors fall short — mined from the honest middle of their own reviews.

Emerging Threads

What's starting to move — signals from job postings and conference-talk titles, before they harden into trends.

Their Exact Words

Verbatim customer phrases, ready to drop straight into headlines, emails, and sales pages.

Next Steps

What this means for you, and what to do about it. Suggested moves, not homework.

How she works

From question to brief — even while you sleep.

  1. Reads your business fileBefore anything else, Sage reads your AGENTS.md — who you serve, what you sell — so every finding is filtered through your business, not a generic one.
  2. Sharpens your briefVague requests get refused. Sage asks four questions — what are you deciding, who is this about, which sources, how deep — then confirms the run plan in writing.
  3. Runs two passesDiscovery first: a broad sweep, raw findings logged. Then analysis: deep on the two or three strongest threads. Quick scan, standard, or deep dive — you set the depth.
  4. Delivers — even overnightQueue a brief at bedtime and the complete report is waiting in the morning. Ambiguities get noted at the top of the brief instead of stopping the run.

What's inside the Sage kit

Two files. One install. Runs forever.

  • README.html — open first. Three steps to install, no terminal required. Activation is one pasted sentence: "Read SAGE.md and run as instructed."
  • SAGE.md — the operator itself. Drop it into your AI COO or Claude Code. Eleven sections, and every one earns its place:
  • The brief-clarification system — the four questions that stop generic research before it starts
  • The source-intelligence map — where the honest signal lives, source by source
  • Three research depths — quick scan, standard, or deep dive
  • The 8-section brief template — the locked format every run delivers in
  • Overnight Brief mode — queue at bedtime, read at breakfast
  • Cross-operator brief formats — one run, pre-shaped for Quill, Maven, or Stitch
  • Security protocols — your private details never enter a search query

Answers

Common questions.

What kinds of research can Sage do?

Competitive analysis, market research, topic deep-dives, product research, pricing comparisons, industry overviews, and customer language mining from forums and communities.

Can I use Sage with Claude Code or other AI systems?

Yes. Sage runs in your AI COO or Claude Code — either works. Some things may vary (web tool integrations, delivery format), but the operator itself works anywhere you can drop a markdown file.

Does Sage access the internet?

Sage works with Claude's built-in knowledge and can be paired with web tools in your OpenClaw setup. README walks through both options.

What is the two-pass research system?

Pass one is broad discovery — wide range, high volume. Pass two takes the best threads and goes deeper with a higher-reasoning model. Two passes, one night, a brief that would have taken a researcher days.

Is my business information safe?

Yes — security protocols are built in. Client names, revenue, pricing strategy, and proprietary processes from your business file never enter a search query. Sage researches from a neutral position, and the output stays on your machine. Context informs — it doesn't broadcast.

What if the output is too generic?

Generic output comes from generic briefs, so Sage refuses them. Before any research runs, she asks four clarifying questions — what you're deciding, who it's about, which sources, how deep — and confirms the plan in writing. Specificity in, specificity out. She also won't fabricate quotes, and she flags when she's working from training knowledge instead of live search.

Ready to stop losing afternoons to tabs?

Sage runs the research overnight. You wake up ready to decide.

One-time price. Yours to keep — and when Sage gets sharper, the update's yours too.

Runs in the AI COO you already have. No subscription, no monthly fee.
